I live in Barcelona since 2018, but I was born and raised in a small city in the Dominican Republic, and the connection with my country grows every day. I've been taking these 35mm film photographs on several trips since the first time I could turn back to reencounter my family and country on 2020. I called it Fresas Salvajes (Wild Strawberries), because I've always found this connection, maybe even envy, with kids, specially the ones that lives apart from society, in the mountains, living their primitive but most of all free and happy life, which is rarely shown because society always wants to show us the sensationalist and sad part of it. And also, because without knowing me a second before, they always welcome me with the biggest of smiles, a hug and a great illusion to be captured through my camera.
